2023 Big Cottonwood Stake Plan for

Temple and Family History

Set a reasonable goal to increase temple attendance this year. For some, “one more time” may be an admirable goal. Consider joining with another family or friend(s).

Suggestions:

For families with youth, perform temple baptisms as a family.

Consider going on “Fast Saturday” or another fixed day.

Occasionally (or regularly) following temple attendance, go out for lunch or a treat.

Alternate ordinances to experience all ordinances in a certain span of time.

Pray for personal revelation as you attend the temple.

Encourage each member turning 12 this year  to create a FamilySearch account and engage with the app monthly.

Using the Stake Family Search Center, and with help from the ward specialists, focus on adding photos, memories, and sources to your parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. (A typical source is a document that contains the name of your ancestor.)

Regularly have a family history half-hour, reading and telling stories of preceding generations. Use Zoom of Face Time as needed. Young children may want to act out the stories.

Pray for the spirit of Elijah to help you and your family be drawn together on both sides of the veil.
